The Bible Was Written By a Fat Guy With a Wig - Part 2

If you have absolutely no idea what my title is about please click HERE to read part 1. That will explain the title and help you understand that I have not lost my mind (lol). It has taken me forever to write part 2 but here it is!

#6 Makeup
*Note: I actually don't really get this question, it's rare but here it is anyway
Q: Why don't you wear makeup
A: Well, God made me, why would I try to alter anything? It is also a blessing NOT to be tied down to anything like makeup. I know that you know people out there who will NOT go out without makeup and feel very ugly without it. I personally do not need it nor do I need anything that will make me uneasy in my own skin if that makes sense? How are you supposed to learn to love yourself if you always add something fake to yourself?

#7 Worldly Music
Q: Why do you listen to Christian Music?
A: The same reason I don't watch TV basically. The topics that are sung about in other music are ungodly topics such as sex, violence and even a superficial-materialistic life. Music also has to do with where your mindset is at, and if I want to have my mind on Christ at all times music about Hollywood isn't exactly going to help. It also helps in just having a positive mind in general. Don't get me wrong (I always say this) not all non-Christian music out there is BAD, but I just don't have the time an patience to personally pick songs that I feel okay listening to.

#8 Dating
Q: You use chaperones? Really? Why?
A: It is a way to make sure that temptation isn't as uh... as tempting. Aside for the purity aspect, it really guards peoples minds from thinking badly about somebody. You aren't going to think the same about a couple with a chaperone versus a couple without one, if that makes sense? Also, it's good for safety aspects too. I recently heard a story about a girl from a family members church who was a victim of domestic abuse IN A PARK, imagine what the poor girl went through when they were alone?

#9 Preachers
Q: Whey do only men preach at your church?
A: I know that I am not the only young woman out there that has noticed the lack of manliness in some men now in days. If women were to preach there would be many many many men who wouldn't mind and would just sit there and watch it happen. They would probably lose lack of motivation to be the head of the house ect. I personally do not want to be the head of my future family, and although it may seem irrelevant, when men are taught in the church that they are to be the head of the house and the church it enforces this aspect in different parts of life. To me it is just a huge confusion when women try to lead e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g, and on a personal level I do NOT want to lead everything. So I am completely content and happy men are called to preach and that women are their to help and look pretty.  (lol, okay not really haha)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I do not have OCD , but it's really bugging me that I don't have a #10....ugh.
I do want to say that at the time when I wrote part 1, I was at the University of San Francisco in an Ethics Philosophy class. In this class we argued two sides of various topics, and there was a topic in particular that I noticed I could not defend outside Biblical scriptures. This troubled me....for like 5 minutes (lol) until I came to the conclusion that it was completely okay to rely on the bible as proof for beliefs. Although it is nice to have a backup explanation when coming across hard headed individuals who don't think the bible is Gods word, it's enough to believe in the bible. It just is! It's just one of those things where you either believe, or you don't.

Awesome by Charles Jenkins - Spanish Translation

Okay guys, this is the first of hopefully many bilingual songs I will be putting up on my blog (on a tab at the top). Although I think most of you don't go to bilingual services I'm praying this can be a blessing to some of you! I will be putting songs that I have personally translated, either from English to Spanish or from Spanish to English, so suggestions are encouraged!

I first heard this song at Heritage and absolutely loved it! The next day I translated it... when I was in the shower.. LOL. Except the Holy-Wonderful part was challenging because of all the words. I had to change some words but it is basically the same. Click HERE to go to the website where I got the chords for the song, and please email me (click on the bird picture on the right) if you have any questions.
Enough babbling, here are the lyrics in Spanish and English.

Happy Sunday!

I'm Going to Be a Nurse!

Yesterday was my orientation at CSUEB! I was very nervous at first because it a new school with new people and a whole new curriculum. God worked things out though. I had activated my Facebook a while back just so I could join the Facebook nursing group, but then I deactivated it since I really don't like Facebook. Well, in that short time I was in the Facebook group I saw the pictures of a couple of the members. When I showed up to orientation and got in line to get my packet, one of the girls from FB was in front of me and the other behind me! So we immediately began talking (well I started talking to them and they joined in lol) . I am actually thankful for the "gift of gab" because it is very useful when it come to meeting new people. All you quiet people should be thankful for my "gift of gab" too since I often like striking up conversation with those quiet ones :p.

Anyway, it was a very long orientation but I am thankful. They mentioned that almost 800 people applied, and they only accepted 62 students in each campus (a total of124). I'm one of those!! God opened the doors for me to get accepted because I was almost sure I wasn't going to get accepted because it is SO competitive to get into the program. God reallllyyyyy showed me a lesson when I got my acceptance email. It was like He said "You said I can't do WHAT Anali?". Basically I am thankful, so so so so so thankful that God has given me a spot in this program and that He has guided me through my educational path.

Man, I'm pretty proud of myself too, not to sound cocky or anything. I am NOT an automatic "A" student like the Kifles (lol), I had to really really really had to train myself how to study. There were a lot of sleepless nights and very early mornings that had to occur in order for me to get the grades that I got.

Education is no joke, it can be very dangerous too. It is easy to get distracted with school and want to "gain the whole world". I thought about medical school, becoming a dietitian, going into public relation, running for president (JK!), but God said nursing was for me!

When I first decided on nursing I would tell people that my plan was to go to an undeserved community/place, marry a preacher, and witness to my sick patients. They would become our congregation... heh heh. We shall see about that though. As for right now I am amazed how God opens doors, and how us, His children, really do have his favor.

I was also laughing at the survival tips the second year nursing students put together. Like these two points below:

Well thank you nursing students, I will keep that in mind. LOL.

Pictures from the "Push Yourself" Post!

Also, a little bit ago I wrote a post about how important it is to push yourself. In that post I mentioned that I was a keynote speaker at a graduation thingy.

Well I have these two cool pictures of me speaking!

Okay, well I'm done trying to look like I'm important now.. heh heh
My nursing orientation was today and I really really want to write about that, but that will take some time so I'll leave for later.

Byeeee :)

Heritage 2012 - Extra Commentary

Okay everybody, I was reading Mary's post on Heritage and I was LOLing because of all the memories that are in my head (That sound pretty weird huh?) so I just wanted to write one more post on Heritage explaining a few things.

1. The "That's so ethnic" phrase
Okay well, what had happened waaaaas, that on Wednesday night Jayne wore this totally cute outfit that I thought looked African. But of course I didn't say "Jayne you look cute and African" so I said "Jayne you look so ethnic"  and since then everybody started cracking up and using that.
Well on Wednesday or Thursday night, Jayne come out with a scarf on her head and points to Hanna who also has a scarf on her head and says "Anali, do we look ethnic?". So I start laughing, and if that wasn't enough Hanna pulls out a plastic bag and starts putting it on her head because she forgot a shower cap.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAH (I'm literally smiling right now and am giggling a bit as I write this).
I started rollin'!!! Now that was SUPER ETHNIC (aka Ghetto) !! And the next day when I was trying to tell the story I couldn't stop laughing again! LOL.

2. "No, no, no, no"
Well that song, that says  "Nobody like Jesus, no, no no no" became our theme song before church. Jedidah Hanna and I were jammin' to it and even coordinated moves to it. Mary actually got a picture of us. The funny part was that at one point there was a red truck behind us, when I looked back they were laughing at us and gave us a thumbs up. At the red light they did the same thing! hahaha

3. "Chick-A-Fil"
To clear things up, Hanna and I did NOT like Chick-Fil-A, their chicken tasted like pickles. LOL. Sooo I kind of accidentally messed up the name and called it "Chick-A-Fil".

4. My Kindred Jen was there in the spirit.
If you guys don't know Hanna Jen and I are Kindred spirits, AKA Kindred's. Well Jen kept sending us some random funny stuff that made us laugh during the trip, which included
This:
d

and on our way to Heritage sends a scripture to Mary that said she will catch a man or something.
When I told her we all received that word, she texted me back saying
"I SAY-AH IT IS NOT YOUR TIME-AH"
So I was cracking up, and I'm not going to comment on that Jen.. ahem. LOL!!

5. Mary's Cooking
Okay, Mary wanted me to blog about this so I am. Hanna and I have already mentioned that Mary is a REALLY GOOD COOK, but we didn't mentioned it's healthy! I felt that I had gained weight since we were eating biscuits and gravy at like 12AM. But guess what? I lost between 2-3 pounds last week!!!

WOW! I guess the food is good and healthy. Plus swimming for three days straight also helped.

:) Can't wait until next year!

Heritage 2012

My first Heritage Conference was AMAZING. I met a lot of new people, and heard great preaching and worship! I can officially say that I made 7 new friends (Mary, Liz, Jenna, Jedidah, Jaqueline and Jayne). Who knew that you could become cool with people so fast? Rooming with a lot of girls wasn't really bad, and I wasn't suffocated by hairspray fumes.

I have to admit I did see some pleasant differences between conferences in California and this conference. I probably shouldn't say anything, BUUUUUT I don't care if people get offended so I'll say it anyway. :)

I was amazing at how comfortable I was at Heritage, I felt like there were no "Clickish" groups, as I have felt in the past years at Cali conferences, but that is just my own personal opinion. I don't know what It was about the people or my surroundings, but I was able to be myself, you know, like telling muffin jokes and talking non stop? hah, I tend to be quieter in the past, so I am proud of myself!

(Must be weird me saying I'm quiet, EVER, for those who know my loud goofy side! haha)

Everybody is also very friendly! Can't wait to see people again at  Youth Alive and at Conqueror's conference!!

It was also pretty cool how some restaurants opened specifically for us Apostolics!!

Anyway, here are some pictures!!!

Sis. Ginty and us. Thank you to all the Ginty's for making us feel completely at home! We never felt like we were a burden to them whatsoever, THANK YOU Mary for letting us stay with you!
Liz and her creepy, vintage doll.... I kind of hate creepy dolls, yeah, I watched Chucky when I was little -___-

Packing the the rack... even though we didn't even take the rack thingy because our stuff was too heavy. haha

Peanut butter Oreo hah hah! Cali girls   :)

How AWESOME is Jedidah?! She brought us survival kits!!
heh heh
Jayne's "ethnic" outfit lol

This picture is very funny to me (stolen from Jedidah). Looks like Jac is entertaining me VERY much....ahem.. cricket cricket.. lol
 Old lady Michelle!!

People singing Happy birthday to Mary.
 She really hated the attention.
 Like, really.
 Jayne's CUTE dress!!!

 Colorado was pretty.

Yeah, I rather not risk it.. lol

 Go gurrrooooool!

 The crew minus Hanna

I have NEVER seen such a HUGE youth group before!
 Loveeeeeee Heeeer!
Especially since she let me borrow stuff when I had no clothes! lol
Jenna's big hair. It almost hit the ceiling.

Sambra Monsi and I. Sambra! It was great meeting you! You are a sweetheart :)
Yeah, I have no idea who that guy in the back is. LOL
Texan's... Yeeehawwww!

Zombie Hanna

Our "Youth Leader" Jaqui packing the van, and Liz of course!

Last picture with Jedidah before saying goodbye :'(

Mary's awesome sleeping mask, which she used as a headband. lol

Don't judge me, but Hanna and I were fascinated with the clouds in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. This one was in New Mexico. Purrrtaaaay!

Oh and my new friend Joe and I might have made her sister's dream come true. One sleeping mask to go over her eyes, and another one to go over her mouth. High Five Joe!!! :)
